Welcome to the fanl website for the short film, “Born Laughing”. This film was written to chronicle the early crimes of Christopher Nolan and Heath Ledger’s incarnation of the Joker character.

This short is purely a fan film and is in no way associated with the movie franchise or DC Comics.

This movie was written and we initially set out to make it as an exercise in dark, horror-type filmmaking. Our initial weekend of filming went very well, however in light of Heath Ledger’s unfortunate death, we felt it better to halt production and share with the world the scenes that we filmed as our own tribute to Mr. Ledger. Therefore our “finished” film picks up halfway through the action of our initial script. In time and if it’s desired by viewers we hope to film the entire script (just so you know the first half really kicks ass!)

We are huge fans of Mr. Ledger’s work and are all deeply saddened with his early exit from this world.
